Pine Creek TrailThe Pine Creek Trail is one of the more popular places to bicycle in Tioga County, and for good reason. Running along the bottom of Pine Creek Gorge, also know as the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, the trail offers unparalleled scenic beauty and a quiet, care-free, non-motorized environment in which to enjoy it.The trail runs from Ansonia, just west of Wellsboro, 41 miles south to Waterville, just north of Jersey Shore, Lock Haven and Williamsport. The surface is not paved, but of firmly packed, finely crushed gravel, suitable for most most bicycles except those equipped with very narrowest of tires. To access the Pine Creek Trail from Wellsboro, take Main St. (PA 660) south out of town. After 3 miles, 660 turns off to the left. Don't turn there. Keep going straight and you will be on PA 362. Continue for 4 more miles and turn left at the sign for the Darling Run trailhead. If you get to US Route 6, you've gone too far. For more information on the Pine Creek Trail, visit the Pennsylvania DCNR site.

Tioga-Hammond Lakes Hike & Bike TrailMansfield also has its own bike path, the Tioga-Hammond Lakes Hike & Bike Trail. It is paved, and wide enough to ride two abreast. The path is 4 miles long, running from Mansfield north along the Tioga river to the Lambs Creek recreation area. The path is built on a section of the old U.S. Highway 15, part of an old railroad corridor, and other old roads that were disused after the construction of the Tioga-Hammond Dams. It travels through what was once the village of Lambs Creek. To access the Hike & Bike Trail, from the traffic light (that's right - the traffic light) in Mansfield, head north on Main St. Turn left into the shopping plaza (that's right - the shopping plaza) parking lot and go around to the back of the building. Go past the Mansfield Boro Garage, then you will see the start of the trail on your right. You can park in the gravel lot next to the water treatment facility.
