Located in the lush green hills and Appalachian mountains of North Central Pennsylvania, Tioga County boasts two car-free bike paths, hundreds of miles of quiet, scenic dirt and paved roads, and over 170,000 acres of public lands, including state parks, state forest and state game lands.
And this place that is so chock full of excellent bike riding opportunities is also home to an excellent bunch of cyclists known as Twisted Spokes.
Twisted Spokes puts on the Laurel Classic Mountain Bike Challenge, a race on the spectacular trails of the Tioga State Forest every September. During spring, summer and fall they organize regular weekly group rides for both road riders and mountain bikers. Of course, some members ride right on through the cold, cold winters too, but with less regularity. Feel free to e-mail us if you are looking for riding partners or, in season, just show up to join any of our group rides.
What's New4/17/13 - 2013 Laurel Classic is set for September 7. More info on the Events page. |
